Success Stories
1
Rise in Investment
Due to hours of working as a team, the city of Delavan marketed our community through a number of events throughout the years. To date, we've experienced more single-family, owner-occupied homes built in the last few years than we had seen built in the entire previous decade. With more home development on the way—despite high construction costs—families want to be here, businesses want to be here.
2
Downtown Redevelopment
Under Mayor Ryan Schroeder's leadership, Delavan also has seen more investment and redevelopment in our historic downtown over the last two years.
Buildings once standing empty and blighted, are now reopening; facades being repaired and repainted, like: the old Schultz Brothers store; the movie theater; Tower Park renovations; and the current effort toward library expansion.
3
Small Business Relief
With the help of the city council, Mayor Ryan Schroeder waived fees directed at small businesses and economic development—in the form of rebates on liquor licenses, city sewer connection fees—during the COVID pandemic that aided local business in staying open, and attracted new businesses during a very difficult time.
Ryan worked tirelessly with community stakeholders to meet with business owners, to not only retain important businesses in our community, but also toward attracting new manufacturing businesses and thus additional new jobs to the city of Delavan.
