Transparent Government with Citizen Involvement
From the beginning, Mayor Schroeder has worked to open up our city government and make it more transparent. These programs have helped spur citizen involvement in our city government with citizens of all ages.
Success Stories
1
Mayor for a Day
In 2020, as mayor, Ryan implemented his "Mayor for a Day" program which provides DDHS students an opportunity to get involved in city government.

Youth are the future and giving them insight now into the important work we do, will help them consider future career choices. City staff and Mayor Schroeder himself have been lucky to meet many inspiring students.
2
Office Hours with the Mayor
More recently, as mayor, Ryan implemented "Office Hours with the Mayor" giving the public unprecedented access and transparency.

This program provides citizens another option to share your thoughts, which has always been important to our success.
Citizens can join Mayor Schroeder—in person or virtually—the first Saturday of the month from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at City Hall.
3
Broadcasting City Meetings
By working with the late former Alderman Don Edmunds to film and broadcast our city meetings, and also have them shown on the web.
